39 Days to Mars, Steampunk Puzzling in Space

We take a look at 39 Days to Mars, the latest indie kickstarter success announces release.

The project from New Zealand based developer Surrealix has already doubled it's kickstarter target, head over if you want to get in on the action. Pledge $20 and you can get access to the early game builds and other goodies.

In true indie game style 39 Days To Mars offers a game world rich in esoteric charm. Play one player or two player co-op as you join Sir Albert Wickes and The Right Honourable Clarence Baxter on their maiden voyage to Mars aboard the steam powered HMS Fearful.

Delivered in a quirky, line-drawn cartoon style the game sees you coming to the aid of the less than competent Victorian astronauts as they battle to keep their ship from falling to bits in space.

Combining puzzle adventure and resource management you'll need to keep the intrepid crewmen alive whilst dealing with the problems arising from steam-powered space flight.

Promising a light-hearted, humorous take on steampunk fantasy, this 'coffee break' game offers something easy to access that won't stretch your gaming skills to the point of frustration. let's hope with a good bit of voice acting and some well executed jokes that 39 Days to Mars pulls it off, people are certainly interested.

39 Days to Mars is currently set to come out for Windows Mac and Linux.
