The Argentine attacker only moved to White Hart Lane last summer in a £30 million deal from Serie A giants Roma.
“It is difficult to adapt to a different country, a different league and a different language as well but when you are suffering up these niggles, and something more than minor at the moment, it is disappointing for the lad,” Sherwood told the Express.
Sherwood has also lashed out at Dutch coaches Frank de Boer and Louis van Gaal.
The pair have both recently said that they would be interested in taking Sherwood’s job at the club in the near future.
“They just want to put themselves in the frame. Obviously, they’re not happy with the jobs they’re doing if they’re touting themselves for the Tottenham job,” Sherwood is quoted by the Mail.
Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has laughed off suggestions that he could join Arsenal.
Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud announced he’d had talks with the Spurs ‘keeper over the possibility of the switch, claiming he’d be interested.
“I think maybe some words were twisted, but it is embarrassing. I don’t think that. I’m very focused on Spurs’ ambition and I am very pleased to play for Spurs,” he told the Tottenham website.
