New zombie survival horror game Dying Light - Humanity trailer

Dying Light confirms that the world hasn’t yet had enough of zombie games… but this one is attempting a slightly more serious take on the genre.

With the over-saturation of zombie games these days, I find it hard to get excited about yet another title. However, the upcoming survival horror game, Dying Light (developed by Techland and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment), is giving me hope. Set in an open-world environment, you must make the most of every ounce of daylight, to scavenge for supplies and equipment – as in the day the infected aren’t much of a threat whilst they slowly trundle about. But, once day turns to night you’re gonna have some problems – the infected increase in strength and thirst for human blood. The ones that weren’t too fond of the daylight at all will flock into the streets to hunt for tasty man-flesh. Nom-nom-nom!

The trailer looks at the more human aspect of such an epidemic, and how it would affect you emotionally. It’s vaguely reminiscent of the first ever Dead Island CGI trailer, which was pretty heavy-hitting, but it doesn’t seemingly lull you into a false sense of what the game is all about, like that trailer did.

Dying Light will be available on Xbox One, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC later this year.
