MOTD subtitles operator struggled to write Adnan Januzaj’s name and failed spectacularly.
For anyone who had subtitles showing during Match of the Day’s latest edition, they were in for a treat.
There have been a few players in Premier League history with difficult names to either pronounce or spell, such as Benjani Mwaruwari, Zurab Khizanishvili and Zbigniew Kruszynski, yet according to the MOTD operators, Adnan Januzaj is just as difficult to get right.
As Manchester United’s list of strikers were being read out by presenters Martin Keown, Robbie Savage and Mark Lawrenson, the names were being displayed at the bottom of the screen for those using subtitles.
Javier Hernandez was followed by Van Persie, Rooney, Juan Mata and then the hilarious Janet Jazz Jazz Jam – presumably Adnan Januzaj.
The comments would no doubt have added further ammunition for rivals of Manchester United to gloat over the Red Devils’ sudden decline, yet it wouldn’t be surprising to see the United faithful join in with the laughter.
Unfortunately for the Manchester United starlet, as the display is set to go viral it will only be a matter of time until a fellow teammate draws attention to the name – and before Januzaj knows it, a new nickname in the locker room will have been born.
