A round up of news stories about Tottenham Hotspur this morning.
Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has urged Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to switch allegiances and join the Gunners.
Lloris has been one of the most consistent goalkeepers in the Premier League this season which has prompted the request.
“Have I asked him to join Arsenal? Yes, I have with Lolo (Laurent Koscielny). He would have liked to, he would quite like to. You will have to ask him the question,” Giroud told French TV.
Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen says his team have no reason to fear the challenge coming from Liverpool.
Spurs go to Anfield at the end of next month and also face a fight with Brendan Rodgers’ team for a top four finish.
“Suarez scored one at Anfield last year – but I scored twice! So we’ve no need to fear them,” said the Belgian.
Vertonghen has also revealed his delight at returning to centre back under the guidance of new head coach Tim Sherwood.
The central defender voiced his frustration quite publicly when he was asked to play at left-back by former manager Andre Villas-Boas.
“Tim uses me as a centre-back. He believes in me in that position, he says that and I feel the confidence as well,” he told the Tottenham Journal.
