Arsene Wenger gave updates on player fitness, Mesut Ozil and a need to respond ahead of the game with Manchester United.
“We have no injuries from Saturday and we have Sanogo available as well. Vermaelen and Ramsey still out,” said the Frenchman.
Wenger has unsurprisingly leapt to the defence of his players following that result at Anfield, calling the result ‘an accident’ expecting a better performance and response from his team.
“We respond tomorrow in a very positive way, I am convinced of that as we have done it since the start of the season. I think it was an accident because we have been very stable defensively,” added the Frenchman.
Wenger also stuck up for under fire midfielder Mesut Ozil, who has come under heavy criticism in recent weeks for going ‘missing’ during important games for the club.
“He was like everybody else on Saturday. He works very hard in training to improve. He works very hard to adapt to the Premier League. For me he's an exceptional player,” said Wenger.
In a non-related Arsenal question, Wenger was asked about the current troubles surrounding Manchester United boss David Moyes, suggesting that the Scot will pull the side through this difficult period.
“You need time and patience. You need to be in a big club and he has that.”
