Federico Macheda has been rejuvenated by a loan move to Birmingham but his long-term future may well lie back in his homeland.
Macheda arrived at Manchester United as a teen sensation who had been widely tipped for the very top of the world game.
But life in Manchester didn't work out for the striker and he found himself sent on numerous loan deals where he largely failed to impress.
The player's agent had called on United to let him leave permanently before his contract expires at the end of the season, but a loan deal to Birmingham seems to be working out.
Macheda netted twice last weekend to give Birmingham an important 2-0 win over Charlton and take his tally to three goals in two games.
The website believes that the Ducali are lining up an offer to bring Macheda back to Italy in the summer when his deal at Manchester United expires.
Parma may face competition from fellow Italians Sassuolo, Sampdoria and even former club Lazio.
