Actor Shia LaBeouf stormed out of his latest movie press conference after quoting Cantona's famous seagull line.
Hollywood actor Shia LaBeouf has declared himself as a Manchester United fan at a recent movie press conference.
After being asked about sex scenes in his new movie Nymphomaniac, the Transformers star began to quote the famous line about seagulls, just like Eric Cantona did in a 1995 press conference.
"When the seagulls follow the trawler, it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea."
LaBeouf then walked out of the Berlin press conference, much to the confusion of the watching media. How much LaBeouf knows about the famous Cantona quote is unclear, but it is obvious that his exit was somewhat of homage to the former Manchester United legend. The actor clearly pauses for a sip of water at the same time as the French forward.
Football fans around the world would have instantly recognised the clip as it is one of the most memorable lines ever heard. Cantona was speaking after it had been announced that he would have to serve 120 hours of community service after he famously jumped into the crowd at Selhurst Park and karate kicked a fan who had been abusing him during a match against Crystal Palace.
Events took an even more bizarre twist when LaBeouf later appeared on the red carpet with a brown paper bag over his head saying: “I am not famous anymore.”

Little does Shia know that he has made himself even more famous after these bizarre stunts?
Liverpool fans would have been delighted this week to see superstar actor, Samuel L Jackson parading a Liverpool shirt with his name on it at a recent premiere. It’s not quite clear whether Manchester United fans will welcome LaBeouf with as open arms.
