United and Liverpool both chase Dutch international – report

PSV Eindhoven

The Premier League heavyweights are reported to be keeping tabs on PSV Eindhoven talent Georginio Wijnaldum.

Despite the transfer window closing recently, speculation over summer moves has still being doing the rounds in the British press.

Both Manchester United and Liverpool are believed to be monitoring the progress of PSV Eindhoven winger Georginio Wijnaldum according to The Daily Mail.

The Netherlands international has been in fine form of late, and is valued in the £9 million range.

The versatile 23-year-old operates predominantly as a winger, but also has the ability to play in a central attacking midfield role.

Wijnaldum came through the ranks at Feyenoord, before switching to PSV in 2011 for a fee believed to be €5 million.

The attacker is PSV’s captain this season, but has been on the sidelines for the majority of the campaign through injury. He has returned to the fold recently and has netted four goals in six Eredivisie games this term.

Wijnaldum is in the reckoning to be included in the Netherlands World Cup squad, and made the last of his three senior appearances back in September against Estonia.
