Dominant defender is ready for first team life at Anfield

On-loan Derby County defender Andre Wisdom is proving himself as one of the best defenders in the Championship, so we take a look at why he will soon be starring for Liverpool week in, week out.

Andre Wisdom has been wowing the iPro Stadium faithful this season with his dominant defensive displays, but when he turns to Anfield next season will he go straight into the Liverpool first team?

The England U21 captain has been mentioned as one of the main reasons for Derby County's quick turn around in fortunes. The Rams lay eighth in the league standing when he joined with a points total of 18 from 12 games, conceding 20 goals in the process.

Derby County now sit comfortably inside the top six and four points from the top two, which could all change Monday night when they play Queens Park Rangers at home.

Since Wisdom's arrival they have picked up 34 points in 17 games and have only conceded 20 goals in the process, showing his direct influence of results in the East Midlands as the rest of the defence as largely remained the same.

The gap from the Premier League to the Championship can be very cruel, but having showed promise during his first-team appearances last term at Anfield then I would be quietly confident about Wisdom settling down and winning his place in the Liverpool first team squad.

Luckily for Brendan Rodgers, the system worked at Derby is very similar to the one he works at Liverpool and therefore should be accustom to the tactics set in place already.

Wisdom, number 33, on the top image is clearly shown to play a similar role to the current right back at Liverpool, number 38, on the image below.

Aged at just 20, the defender is still raw but full of potential and learning his trade week in, week out at the league below seems to be helping his progress significantly.

However, during his inevitable return to Anfield in the summer, will he become and can he become a first team regular at Liverpool? I say he most certainly can and will.
