Liverpool bid £2m for ex-Germany under-19 star – report

Reports in Germany claim that Brendan Rodgers is working on a move to bring Wolfsburg midfielder Tolga Cigerci to Anfield.

The amount of German players heading to English shores has increased of late, with Arsenal signing a host of players from the European nation.

It is believed that Liverpool have been keeping an eye on the Bundesliga for potential summer transfer targets – with a £2 million bid in place for an up-and-coming midfield star.

Bild have suggested that the Anfield outfit are keen to sign Wolfsburg midfielder Tolga Cigerci this summer, and have already approached the Bundesliga side with an offer.

Despite the presence of the likes of Steven Gerrard, Jordan Henderson, Joe Allen and Lucas Leiva, the Merseysiders have been linked with a host of midfielders of late.

Cigerci is a product of the Wolfsburg youth system, but is currently out on loan at Hertha Berlin.

The 21-year-old has previously represented Germany under-19’s and has played 12 times for Hertha this season, scoring one goal.
