For Arsenal it was a day to forget, for Liverpool it was one they never will.
The result had Liverpool fans around the world Tweeting their amazement and excitement throughout the game - as Liverpool took a 4-0 lead after just 19 minutes!
And of course it was not just the everyday fan who was expressing their joy on the web.
Famous fans were also Tweeting away - including a Hollywood legend.
Samuel L. Jackson, the star of massive films such as Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained and Die Hard with a Vengeance, was also pleased.
Jackson became a Liverpool fan whilst filming the British movie The 51st State alongside Robert Carlyle in 2001 - on location in Merseyside.
And his love for the club was revealed in these two impassioned Tweets:
Turn on the TV LFC Scores! You'll Never Walk Alone, Baby! Liverpoooooool!— Samuel L. Jackson (@SamuelLJackson) February 8, 2014
4 nil at halftime!! Go LFC!!!— Samuel L. Jackson (@SamuelLJackson) February 8, 2014
However not everyone was so happy to see him Tweeting away. Arsenal fanatic and constant source of material Piers Morgan was still smarting from the beating Liverpool had put down on his beloved Gunners:
