United morning news: £17.5m man set for £90,000-a-week deal; Kaya linked

A select round-up of news relating to Manchester United

Following the news that Nemanja Vidic will leave Manchester United at the end of the current campaign, the Daily Mail reports that potential suitors will have to dig deep for his wages. A figure of £4million-a-year after tax being reported, with the likes of Inter Milan, Galatasaray and Monaco among those said to be interested.

And there are contrasting messages over who may replace the Serbian centre-back at Old Trafford.

Talk Sport claims Galatasaray’s very own Semih Kaya is being lined up as a potential replacement. Ten years Vidic’s junior, the story claims the lure of England’s top flight could tempt the £12million-rated player.

But if you believe the Manchester Evening News, David Moyes will simply promote from within or, more specifically, stick with what he has got.

They claim Moyes will put his faith in Jonny Evans, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling, following quotes from the United boss in which he said, “They’ll be the future of the club, the ones we look to, within the building.”

And finally, another vital component of United’s team is reportedly set to sign a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2018.

The Mirror reports that David de Gea is poised to sign a new £90,000-a-week deal. And the player signed for £17.5million from Atletico Madrid is certainly one man whose future Moyes needs to secure as he attempts arguably the biggest rebuilding job in recent times.
