The former Athletic Bilbao midfielder was key performer as Bayern swept aside all last season – forming a formidable partnership with Bastian Schweinsteiger - and ultimately showing what Manchester United missed out on.
However, as a result of injuries the Spanish international midfielder has seen his appearances limited this season – starting just four Bundesliga games.
Furthermore, Pep Guardiola’s style in play hasn’t suited the 25-year-old defensive midfielder – coinciding with Thiago’s arrival, Bastian Schweinsteiger’s form and the change in position of Philipp Lahm has ultimately seen Javi Martinez pushed completely aside.
Elgoldigital go on to mention that Pep Guardiola has already been searching for more defensive midfielders as he prepares to extend Bayern’s German dominance – thus leaving Martinez without a future at Bayern and linking him with a return to La Liga after the World Cup in Brazil.
Iconic Madrid journalist Francois Gallardo – who correctly predicted the Bale, Higuain and Ozil deals - confirmed as much during his football talk show, even going as far as saying that Javi Martinez wants to move to Real Madrid as he explains the situation:
"There is an international player who has told his environment that he wants to play for Real Madrid. He is important in his club and in the national team.”
“He has already sounded a move to Barca in the past. It is Bundesliga player Javi Martínez, and he is hoping to play for Real Madrid."
Gallardo went to explain that Real Madrid’s intentions of buying Javi Martinez comes as a result of Paris Saint Germain’s reported interest in for Spurs ace Luka Modric, adding:
“Paris Saint Germain want to catch up with the two best clubs in the world, Barcelona and Real Madrid. They have two targets this summer, one from Barca and the other from Madrid. The one from Barca is Messi, and the other from Real Madrid is midfielder Luka Modric – who is exploding this year - to replace the departing Lucas Moura.”
