Aston Villa’s last home match was the 4-3 belter against West Bromwich Albion, and Villans fans will be hoping for more of the same against West Ham United this afternoon. That said, Paul Lambert’s side has the second-worst home record in the league, and that needs to change if they want to sit safely in the top 10 for the remainder of the season.
Fans can hope from the fact that Villa are on a six match unbeaten streak at home to today’s visitors, who have only won once in their last 15 visits.
But Sam Allardyce has clearly been working on their away mentality, because after a run of five straight defeats away from Upton Park, the Hammers took four points from their last two matches.
A big blow for the hosts is the absence of Ron Vlaar with a hamstring injury, while the visitors will be without Andy Carroll after his three-match suspension was upheld following an appeal.
What do you think the result will be this afternoon?
