Alen Halilovic is no stranger to transfer speculation. He may only be 17, but the Dinamo Zagreb winger has already been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Reports back in December claimed Barca were heading the queue for his services, with a fee in the region of €15million said to be on the table. But then everything went quiet, with the player currently enjoying a rest while the Croatian league takes a break.
That was until now, when newspaper Sportske Novosti cranked the rumours up again.
In a report later picked up by Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are said to be closing in on a deal that would see them pay an initial fee of €3.6million – with add-ons that could potentially see the amount rise to the previously reported €15million.
The same report claims Barcelona officials will soon travel to Zagreb to finalise a deal.
Whether Halilovic begins next season at the Nou Camp remains to be seen, but given his age it appears more likely he may be sent on loan should a deal to take him to the Spanish champions be completed.
