Tottenham Hotspur legend David Ginola claims he can make Andros Townsend a better player.

Ginola says he would love the chance to get involved at Tottenham, working with Tim Sherwood to develop the current squad.

“The trouble is, at the moment he doesn’t succeed much because he has so many shots off target. So many times he fails to get any reward for the things he tries - I would love to work with him on getting all the end product. His start is always good – getting the ball from the line and running inside or outside,” said the Frenchman.

Marseille interim coach Jose Anigo has confirmed the club rejected offers for Florian Thauvin last month.

The 21-year-old has been linked with a switch to North London and Spurs are reportedly one of the sides who made an offer for him.

“There were offers during the transfer window but it was nothing – He features in our project for two to three years. He doesn’t plan on leaving at all,” Anigo told reporters.

Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen has admitted he’s impressed with the style of football used by Everton.

Tottenham host Roberto Martinez’ side this weekend and the Belgian defender is wary of their threat.

“They're a very good team with very good players. They impress me. They have a good manager. They're a good team to watch,” he told reporters.
