Chelsea morning news: Are the Blues in talks with €65m attacking superstar?

A round up of key news stories about Chelsea this morning.

Reports suggest that Edinson Cavani’s agents remain in London to negotiate a possible move for their client.

The €65 million rated striker has been linked with a summer move to Manchester United but Chelsea are also thought to be interested.

One of the possible reasons Cavani is though to want a move is his position in the Paris Saint-Germain side, where he has to play wide with Zlatan Ibrahimovic through the middle.

Chelsea are reportedly considering a swoop for Wolfsburg star Ricardo Rodriguez at the end of the season.

German newspaper Bild has suggested that the 21-year-old is a high priority transfer target for the Blues.

A fee of around £10 million is being mentioned but the deal for the full back may only go through if Ashley Cole fails to sign a new contract at the club.

Cole is being tipped for a move to the MLS but if he goes to America, he will have to take a pay cut.

His currently salary could be slashed in half should he join a Major League Soccer side.

Salaries for MLS defenders are lower than those for midfielders and strikers on average.

However, he could possibly link up with former Manchester United star David Beckham at his new Miami based MLS franchise.
