Report: Inter will need Vidic to take big pay cut

Inter are said to be closing in on a deal for Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic and The Telegraph has printed details of their offer.

Journalists in Italy are convinced that Inter are pushing to sign Nemanja Vidic and now The Telegraph appears to be backing that up.

The Serbian international was reportedly a target for AC Milan, Juventus, Napoli and Fiorentina in the January transfer window.

But Inter have emerged as the frontrunners for his signature when he become a free agent at the end of the current campaign.

Vidic is not expected to renew his contract at Manchester United and Inter have allegedly already come close to agreeing a deal.

According to The Telegraph, Inter have offered Vidic a contract that represents a 50 percent pay cut from the £100,000 per week he is on at Old Trafford.

Inter are reportedly tabling a two-year contract offer and are hoping that Vidic is lured by a new challenge.

The paper reports that Vidic wouldn't consider renewing his United contract for more than one year and despite attempts by David Moyes to keep him there are no talks scheduled.

French giants Monaco are also said to be in the hunt for Vidic and may take pole position as they appear to have greater financial capabilities.
