Manchester United latest: Kagawa ‘irritated’ and Vidic could leave

United veteran Ryan Giggs has backed record signing Juan Mata to be a ‘great’ for the Red Devils.

"I think he could be. He's obviously got the talent. I don't want to put too much pressure on him but I don't see why not," the Welshman told MUTV.

United legends Giggs and Gary Neville are bidding to buy Salford City football club with plans to set up an academy close to where they developed as youngsters.

Shinji Kagawa has again revealed he is ‘irritated’ with his form at Old Trafford.

"I still haven't scored any goals this season so I've felt very irritated. This is the first time in my career that I haven't been able to produce, so it's disappointing,” explained the Japan international.

In transfer news, the Daily Star claims French champions Paris Saint-German are ‘plotting’ a £40 million move for Adnan Januzaj.

Januzaj celebrated his 19th birthday with a Manchester United cake on the same day he was awarded the United fans’ Player of the Month. He also shares his birthday with United fans’ favourite Cristiano Ronaldo.

Meanwhile, The Metro reports that Toni Kroos has ‘hinted’ at a move this summer with United still linked in the frame to sign the German who has yet to commit his future to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

Elsewhere, reports have emerged that a number of clubs are ‘circling’ to sign captain Nemanja Vidic who looks unlikely to renew his contract with the champions. Inter Milan, Juventus and Monaco are all linked with the defender.

Finally, United commemorate those who lost their lives in the Munich air disaster today in the 56th memorial of the crash in which 23 people lost their lives on February 6 1958.
