Goalkeeper Brad Friedel believes that Tottenham call fulfil all their ambitions this year because they have a big enough squad to do it – and said he feels Spurs are favourites for the fourth Champions League spot.
Friedel told TalkSport: ‘The Europa League will help us this year, more so now we’re out of the FA and League Cups. I don’t think it’s going to be a hindrance at all. We’ve got a big enough squad to be able to cope with it.
‘It’s nice to be involved in another cup because it’s a great opportunity to win a trophy. We’ll be well suited to have our eyes focused on both the Premier League and the Europa League.’
Head Coach Tim Sherwood told the club’s official website: ‘We’re positive on Andros and he has a chance [for Everton], he’s up for selection.’
And on Dembele: ‘He’s fine. He’s back out training again and he’s in the frame to start against Everton.’
Michael Dawson has welcomed the return to fitness of Younes Kaboul and Jan Vertonghen, hailing the latter of the two as ‘world class.’
Dawson told the club’s website: ‘It’s always good to have players back. We’ve the Europa League starting again soon as well, so there are plenty of games.
‘Jan, for me, is a world-class player. He’s cultured on the ball and top defender as well.
‘We’ve top players who want to play, so competition is high and you know you have to perform to stay in the team.’
