Johan Djourou may be in many ways Arsenal's forgotten man. With Thomas Vermaelen struggling for game-time, there's no chance the Swiss international would have got much action, so the decision to send him on loan to Hamburg was the right decision.
He has unfortunately played a part in one of their poorest Bundesliga seasons to date, as they sit 17th out of 18th in the division, in the midst of a relegation battle.
Having not played a single minute in 2014 due to injury, the 27-year-old's travails in the country have taken a frustrating turn.
BILD report he was the victim of a thief at a hotel in Hamburg city centre, along with teammates Jacques Zoua.
Having left their bags in the hotel lobby to go and get a bite to eat, they returned to see they had been taken.
Djourou told the paper: "There were things like a wallet and other valuables in it that are very important to me. This is very, very annoying."
That's an understatement. Taken in the theft was a €100,000 watch bought from a jewellers in London.
The centre-back has it insured and is hoping to get a replacement, while German police hunt for the perpetrators.
As his season goes, it couldn't have got much worse for the player who got injured just four minutes into his Hamburg debut and had to wait another month to re-appear.
He can only hope his fortunes get better from here on in.
