Following Jose Mourinho’s tactical masterplan which tamed one of the most dominant sides in Europe, Chelsea look in prime position to dislodge Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table and home in on a fourth title in ten years.
The Blues are also going strong in the FA Cup and only a very beatable Galatasary side stand in their way of a Champions League quarter final spot.
Despite playing down Chelsea’s chances, Jose Mourinho has certainly instilled belief into his players that they can match and beat the best that England has to offer – demonstrated by taking 15 points from eight games against fellow top seven sides.
Chelsea fully deserved their victory over Manchester City on Monday night, and there is every chance of the Blues grabbing another positive result in their 5th round FA Cup meeting at the Etihad stadium.
One player who has excelled under Mourinho and perfectly illustrates the Chelsea style is former Shakhtar Donetsk attacking midfielder Willian. The hardworking Brazilian looks forward to another trip to the Etihad stadium, and says the Blues hold hopes of completing a historic treble this season:
"It will be a very tough matchup, arguably even more playing away from home again.
“But let's enjoy this victory. Chelsea always have to think about winning all the championships that we competing in.
“Our goal is this. We know it's difficult, but we will endeavour to get three titles."
Willian goes on to praise his side’s big-game mentality, believing that results this season against the best sides will give them great confidence going into the final stretch of the season:
"Our team has played well in big games, both at home and away from home,” said the 25-year-old.
“I think it is only three games (we haven’t won). The others, we win them all.
“This undoubtedly gives more confidence to the team throughout the championship and now, will give more encouragement to kick start the final stretch."
