Richard Keys: Arsenal are the real deal at the moment, but Chelsea…

Renowned pundit believes Chelsea, who recently trumped Manchester City, have the edge in the Premier League title race.

Before the season, former Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys and currently of talkSPORT, gave his prediction that Chelsea would claim the Premier League title this season, with Arsenal second, Manchester City third and Manchester United in fourth.

With the campaign 24 match-days old, the 56-year-old has refused to budge from that assertion and has seemingly become even more impressed with Blues boss Jose Mourinho, lauding the tactical acumen possessed by the Portuguese during Chelsea's recent trip to the Etihad Stadium where they left the pitch 1-0 winners over City.

'Well now we know Mourinho is back! That was almost perfect at City. Well thought out. Well planned. Very well executed. Like his team - he's a lot 'softer' this time round. I've been waiting for him to 'blow' all season, but it hasn't happened. He's different. More mellow. But clever. Very very clever,' blogged Keys on his official website.

'I was working Monday night with Glenn Hoddle and Andy Gray. We had a fascinating conversation before the game - Andy put his faith in big Yaya and City being able to 'power' past Chelsea. And with good reason.

'They've both been magnificent this season Glenn thought Chelsea would out number them - and play the other side of the big man once he'd emptied midfield. They did. And it worked a treat Granted - City were missing a few but that's what the Premier League is all about.

'Sometimes you just have to make do. And then it's about how you handle it. I thought [Manuel] Pellegrini looked baffled. He didn't 'do' anything to change the match. And maybe he was wondering why he'd agreed to loan Gareth Barry to Everton. If ever there was a night City needed him - it was last night.'

Keys went on to mention that City are a 'maybe' to win a title, while Arsenal, perhaps most out of the top three, have consistently looked 'the real deal', however, the Coventry-born presenting veteran retained his faith in Chelsea lifting the trophy come season's end.

'There's a lot left in this season yet. Maybe City will go onto win it. Arsenal are proving to be the real deal at the minute. But I'll stay with my pre season pick - Chelsea. Mourinho came back to our league saying he was the 'happy one'. He is. But he is also still the very special one.'
