Video: Lazio chief receives threatening phone call on live TV

Lazio president Claudio Lotito is less than popular with some fans after selling star midfielder Hernanes and he fielded an angry call on TV.

Lazio fans were devastated when the club decided to sell Brazilian midfield star Hernanes to Inter and many have reacted angrily.

Hernanes, who had become a cult figure with fans, was shown on video crying as he left Lazio's training ground.

The 28-year-old later issued a statement stressing that it was his decision to leave and that anger directed at Lazio chief Claudio Lotito was misplaced.

However, there is still discontent amongst the Biancocelesti faithful, who protested against the sale in midweek.

Lotito has complained about threats from Lazio fans and has reported angry phone calls and messages on social media.

As the Lazio man gave a press conference in which he was asked about the threats, he answered another angry call.

Lotito asked the caller to identify himself, which he refused to do, before responding to a demand that he leave the club by labelling the angry fan a 'lunatic'.
