A round up of the latest news stories about Tottenham Hotspur this morning.
Tottenham reportedly failed with a late bid to sign Marseille midfielder Florian Thauvin.
French source Le Provence has claimed that Tottenham tried to do a swap deal for the midfield star, with Etienne Capoue going the other way.
However, Marseille are thought to have turned down the approach after only signing Thauvin last summer.
The striker has been linked with both sides and has revealed that he’s not agreed to join any side when his contract expires at the end of the season.
“I play with the mind of a player who loves his club and respects his contract, I am very proud to be part of Lyon and I have not signed any agreement with any club yet,” he said.
Spurs midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson claims the side are stronger than they were last year.
Spurs have enjoyed mixed fortunes this season, which prompted the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas as the side fights for a top four place.
“The squad are even stronger now than this time last year and the new players are starting to settle in. By the end of February, we'll have a better idea of who will be at the top and who will be competing for fourth place,” he told the Evening Standard.
