Report: West Ham and QPR target set unusual transfer record

Inter Milan 3

Inter-owned striker Ishak Belfodil broke a record for rejecting possible transfers in the January window, according to Calciomercato.com.

Ishak Belfodil had a busy January as the 22-year-old nearly joined West Ham, Queens Park Rangers and Catania before signing a last-gasp loan to Livorno.

The Algerian international realised that he wouldn't be in Walter Mazzarri's first-team plans this season and was ready for a temporary switch.

It seemed that a deal to join West Ham was tied up but the negotiations fell apart when it came to personal terms.

Fellow Londoners QPR seemed ready to pounce and there were even suggestions that Belfodil had a medical scheduled before the move fell through.

On deadline day, Belfodil was between Catania and Livorno and finally decided on the Tuscan option after snubbing the Elefanti.

According to Calciomercato.com, the picky striker set a bizarre transfer record during January by rejecting a move on nine separate occasions.

Now Belfodil must try and prove he made the right decision by joining Livorno, who are embroiled in a relegation dogfight.

His first action for the Stadio Armando Picchi outfit came last weekend when he was a 77th minute substitute for Innocent Emeghara - he didn't find the net in a 3-3 draw.
