Fjortoft: Arsenal target more likely to leave than £25m rated Kroos

Mario Mandzukic and Toni Kroos have both been tipped for moves away from the Allianz this summer.

Bundesliga football expert Jan Aage Fjortoft has suggested Arsenal target Mario Mandzukic is more likely to move this summer than Manchester United target Toni Kroos.

Both Bayern Munich stars have been heavily linked with moves away from the Allianz Arena this summer, with Mandzukic pushed further down the pecking order when Robert Lewandowski arrives, while Toni Kroos is struggling to nail down regular first team football.

Arsenal’s need for a top, high profile striker to come in and play alongside Olivier Giroud is clear and according to Fjortoft they have more chance of pulling off that €20 million deal than United have of signing Kroos for £25 million.

Neither deal is likely to happen until after the World Cup and that could cause problems.

Either player could get injured if they feature for their national sides and the interest in them both could sky rocket if they have good tournaments in Brazil, making them harder for Arsenal and Manchester United to sign.

It will be fascinating to see who ends up where.
