Chelsea star sums up exactly why they can win the Premier League

Chelsea defeated Manchester City 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Monday evening, and Ramires was full of praise for his teammates' efforts.

Some thought it would never come - the day (or the night) when Manchester City finally lost a home league match this season.

Up until now, the Etihad Stadium had been a fortress for the hosts and a theatre of nightmares for the opposition.  But Chelsea changed all that with a 1-0 victory and an impressive performance to stifle their prolific opponents and make the title race even more interesting than it had been before.

Speaking after the match, Jose Mourinho inexplicably ruled the Blues out of the running.

"Maybe next season we can race," he said, after a smart but frankly unbelievable analogy about horses and milk; because Chelsea are very much in the running, and if they keep carrying out his plans in such impressive fashion, Arsenal and City will soon be the ones wondering if they can overtake the resurgent Londoners.

Chelsea were outstanding to a man, and one of those players - Ramires - took to Instagram after the match to hail the performance.

"Great game, guys!!! Very proud to be a part of this group of warriors!!" he wrote.  And there it is in a nutshell - warriors.

And for that reason alone, whatever Mourinho says publicly, this side has every chance of holding the league trophy aloft come May.
