'I'm the culprit' - Liverpool loanee takes blame for shock defeat

Pepe Reina blames himself for Napoli's loss to Atalanta.

Pepe Reina's last season at Liverpool was blighted by the odd individual error, and it appears his time at Napoli is far from faultless either.

Rafa Benitez' side lost real ground on the top two of Juventus and Roma this weekend by losing 3-0 away to Atalanta, and now face spending the remainder of the season looking over their shoulders in the race for the third and last Champions League spot.

Goalkeeper Pepe Reina was culpable for the first goal just after half-time, and accepted blame for it post-game.

He told Corrierre dello Sport: "I feel sick. (It was) decisive my mistake. I am the main culprit of defeat: the game has changed there.

"I feel very bad for the team and for our fans. The ball is passed between the legs of Albiol and have not seen it go, but there are no excuses . Now we have to watch match after match."
