Chelsea mainstay Terry has alerted clubs such as Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United as to how to get a result against Manchester City.
Chelsea were awe-inspiring in their 1-0 win over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Monday, February 3 and, because of the manner of their convincing victory, where they dominated the midfield battle and excelled in the counter-attack, captain John Terry believes the Blues have shown the entire Premier League how to do a job against a side threatening to dominate every single opponent they faced.
'They've been phenomenal here, rolling teams over but for us to come here, not just us, but for others to see it… it can be done,' said the veteran English centre back to Sky Sports, after putting in a good shift where he retained a great understanding and had good communication with Gary Cahill.
Divulging the secrets as to how to not only keep a clean sheet against exceptional strikers of the football such as Alvaro Negredo and Eden Dzeko, but getting the better of a stringent defence and a terrific midfielder in Yaya Toure, Terry continued: 'I thought they were good for the first 60 minutes, we didn't wait just for the counter-attacks, we created chances, overall we were very solid and deserving of the win.
'We spent a good couple of days working on their strengths and weaknesses and it's paid off. I think after dropping two points against West Ham, the win here was the first thing. Let's just hope those around us drop points.
'We've got a couple games at home now and we must win,' concluded Terry.
Man of the match Nemanja Matic added: 'City are a good team - it wasn't easy for us. I think we have to continue to do better like this. We have a lot of quality and good players but I always expect to play.'
