AC Milan face a daunting task when they take on La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid in the Champions League and the news that David Villa has picked up an injury could be a boost.
Milan have struggled so far this season in Serie A and their poor form brought about the demise of coach Massimiliano Allegri.
New boss Clarence Seedorf has had a generally bright start but Milan could only draw with high-flying Torino at the weekend and are still languishing in 10th place.
But while Serie A leaders Juventus were knocked out at the group stages of the Champions League, along with Napoli, Milan have progressed and their European dream is still alive.
The Rossoneri have a fearsome draw however and must take on Atletico Madrid who have just moved top of La Liga with a 4-0 win over Real Sociedad.
The latest reports suggest that Villa's injury could keep him out of the first leg between the two teams on Wednesday 19 February at San Siro.
