SUMMARY: Southampton's January Transfer Window

After Southampton end their January business, we look at the deals that were done.

Southampton's spokesman Jordan Sibley confirmed on Twitter that following the departure of Dani Osvaldo, there would be no further business conducted by the Saints in January.

Mauricio Pochettino's side have off-loaded no less than six senior players. Defender Aaron Martin and striker Tadanari Lee were both released, before finding new homes with Birmingham City and Urawa Red Diamonds respectively.

Danny Fox has joined Championship side Nottingham Forest on loan until the end of the season, at which point he will sign a deal with the Midlands outfit that will see him remain at the club on a permanent basis.

Both Lee Barnard and Billy Sharp returned to the clubs that Southampton purchased them from - on loan deals. Barnard is now with League Two promotion-chasers Southend United, whilst Billy Sharp bids to save Doncaster Rovers from the Championship drop.

Jason Puncheon has completed a deal to make him a Crystal Palace player, after an initial loan spell with the South London club.

Finally, Dani Osvaldo departed Southampton on deadline day, initially on loan to Juventus. The Italian giants have an option to purchase Osvaldo in the summer for a pre-agreed fee of €19m.

Southampton have brought no new faces into the club, instead opting to introduce academy players Matthew Targett and Sam Gallagher to fill the voids left by Danny Fox and Dani Osvaldo.
