Talks over the future of Tottenham midfielder Étienne Capoue have dragged on for some time, but Napoli could finally up their offer to seal the deal.
The Partenopei have made no secret of the fact that they have money to spend and they have already added Jorginho, Michel Bastos, Mariano Andujar and Henrique to the squad.
But Napoli's efforts to sign Capoue have so far been rebuffed by Tottenham, who are holding out for a bigger offer.
Spurs had reportedly been holding out for £12m, while Napoli wanted to pay just £9m and it seems that the White Hart Lane outfit would be likely to accept £11.5m and see that as a good piece of negotiation.
Time is not on Napoli's side as they look to tie up a deal before the transfer window shuts and coach Rafa Benitez is said to have set his heart on Capoue.
Spurs only signed Capoue last summer from Toulouse for £9.3m but he has failed to assert himself in North London and become a peripheral figure, not helped by initial injury problems.
It would represent an impressive piece of business for Tottenham to turn a profit on Capoue given his lack of activity over the last six months.
