Pablo Daniel Osvaldo is expected in Turin this morning to complete his medical with Juventus ahead of a loan switch from Southampton.
The Italian international has been cut loose by the Saints after attacking teammate Jose Fonte in training, ending a troubled spell at the club.
Osvaldo is set to arrive at Juventus on loan until the end of the season with the chance to make the move permanent should he impress.
Juve's current strike partnership of Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente have been on good form this season and it is possible that Mirko Vucinic and Fabio Quagliarella will stay in addition to Sebastian Giovinco, making competition for places intense.
"I've played against him in La Liga and he's a great player," Llorente told Tuttosport.
"He was at Espanyol and he impressed me - he's an excellent striker. Competition is welcome and can only make me better.
"At Juventus nobody is guaranteed a place, you have to convince Antonio Conte each and every week."
While Llorente will be happy to see Osvaldo, many Juventus fans have expressed less enthusiasm at the move.
Meanwhile there are scores of angry tweets and Facebook messages from fans who feel the ex-Roma man is a liability.
Juventus director Beppe Marotta has described the signing as a 'great opportunity' but it remains to be seen whether Osvaldo can let his feet do the talking in Turin and show the quality he exuded at Roma.
