Guarin on Twitter: I never asked to leave

Fredy Guarin

Inter midfielder Fredy Guarin has taken to Twitter to tell Nerazzurri fans that he didn't try and force a move to Juventus through.

Fredy Guarin faces a thorny re-entry into the Inter fold if he remains with the club and he has pleaded with the fans for support, claiming he didn't try and engineer a move to Juventus.

The Colombian international was on the brink of signing for Juventus in a part-exchange deal with Mirko Vucinic moving the other way.

But Inter president Erik Thohir prevented it going through at the last minute, possibly due to the fans' protests.

Guarin's brother had even announced that Fredy had become the first Colombian to play for Juventus online before the move stalled.

And Guarin, who is running out of time to find a new club despite links with Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United, has appealed to Inter fans on Twitter.

"It was Inter who put me on the market without me telling anyone I wanted to leave," he wrote.

"I am calm and happy at Inter and I'm asking for respect for me, for the fans and for my agent.

"For the fans I have only words of thanks for the affection and esteem that they have shown me. If I have to leave my heart will always be with Inter because it was there that I lived a dream.

"But if I stay then my effort, heart and thoughts will even more directed towards Inter's success and glory."
