Tottenham: Rose's red card rescinded, available for trip to Hull

Spurs man saw red against Manchester City on Wednesday, with Yaya Toure scoring the resulting penalty.

Tottenham have confirmed that their appeal against left back Danny Rose's midweek red card has been successful.

The young defender was shown a straight red for his challenge on Edin Dzeko that also resulted in a penalty for Manchester City. It's small compensation for the Londoners after the incorrect decision opened the floodgates for what turned out to be an awful 5-1 home defeat.

Rose seemed to win the ball in the last-ditch challenge and referee Andre Mariner looked to be playing on until assistant Scott Ledger flagged for what he perceived to be a foul.

The Spurs man had been set to miss the match against Hull this weekend, stretching a squad without any other recognised left back, before the club announced last night that they were appealing against the challenge.

With the FA recognising the incorrect decision, Rose is sure to take to the pitch at the KC Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
