9pm Deadline Day News: Sunderland midfielders in demand, Berbatov to Monaco, Konoplyanka uncertainty and more...

Lee Cattermole

Fulham, Crystal Palace, Liverpool, Stoke City, Sunderland, Celtic, Manchester United and more all feature.

With just a couple of hours remaining of January's transfer window, clubs will be making those last ditch reaches for phones and chequebooks, with this traditionally the time when those "from out of nowhere" deals rear their peak.

Breaking news:

With Dimitar Berbatov's move to Monaco still yet to be confirmed, it is reported that Fulham are interested in taking defender Nicolas Isimat-Mirin. It is unknown whether the 22-year-old, who has been pursued by Newcastle in the past, or his manager Claudio Ranieri, would be open to a move, but the Ligue 1 club may have to comply if they wish to complete the signing of Bulgarian Berbatov.

Manchester United's Federico Macheda has joined Birmingham City on loan until the end of the season, joining fellow United youngsters Tom Thorpe and Tyler Blackett at St Andrews.

Sunderland's Craig Gardner is the latest Black Cat in demand by a Premier league rival, after West Brom expressed an interest in signing a player whose contract is up at the end of the season.

Where Lee Cattermole ends up is anyone's guess, with Stoke and Sunderland seemingly putting out different noises as to what is happening. To confuse matters further, the players agent was pictured at the Britannia Stadium.

The Mail reports that Valladolid forward Javi Guerra, as well as Newcastle's Papiss Cisse, are being targeted by Cardiff to boost their frontline.

Aston Villa's Enda Stephens will continue with his loan spell at Doncaster Rovers, with the defender having made 8 appearances for the Championship outfit.

Ongoing developments:

Liverpool's deal for Yevhen Konoplyanka looks like one that will go right down to the wire, with further interest in Tottenham's Nacer Chadli likely to be rebuffed by a team in direct competition for the Champions League places.

Fulham continue to push ahead with transfer business as John Heitinga is set to be the next arrival announced. The Everton man may end up joining on loan, with his Toffees contract due to expire in the summer, but there will need to be some negotiating with regards to the players wages if the deal is to got through.

Jonathan Pitroipa is still on the agenda at Stoke, with the Burkina Faso winger's chances of signing for Mark Hughes' men still being investigated.

Tom Ince's future remains shrouded in mystery, with Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston firmly in control of one of the most peculiar transfer window stories of recent times.

He may be one of the names mentioned by Palace Co-Chairman Steve Parish, who earlier told BBC Radio 5 that the club were still pursuing three new signings. Scott Dann and Joe Ledley are two other players who had been thought to be on the cusp of signing.

Done deals:

Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Swedish centurion Kim Kallstrom. The midfielder, who has over 100 caps for the national team, has joined on loan from Russian giants Spartak Moscow. The London club are due to announce their new player's squad number over their Twitter account.

Celtic have confirmed the signing of Wolves' striker Leigh Griffiths, with the forward joining on a four year deal.
