Arsenal striker deal confirmed - Out

Park Chu Young

Arsenal have struck a deal for a striker - To leave the club.

Arsenal were unable to bring a striker in, but they have moved one out of the club ahead of the transfer deadline.

Often forgotten man Chu-Park Young has departed on loan to join Watford, SkySports have confirmed.

The South Korean joins Championship side Watford in a bid to save his international career ahead of the World Cup, where he joins up with former Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia.

He joined Arsenal from AS Monaco in 2011, but failed to ever earn a regular starting spot in the side, scoring jusy one goal.

After an under-whelming loan spell at Celta Vigo, he returned to Arsenal last summer, with the club unable to move him on.

Arsene Wenger recalled him to the squad, and brought him on during the League Cup defeat to Chelsea, featuring three more times this season as an unused substitute.

Park has a contract at Arsenal until 2015 so they could be stuck with him yet - unless he can recapture the form which saw the Gunners sign him in the first place and move elsewhere.
