Yesterday we brought you the news that Mario Pasalic had flown to Chelsea via his Hajduk Split training camp in Turkey to complete a move to The Blues.
He was pictured at the airport in Antalya and his club confirmed the deal on their official website stating:
“Mario Pasalic this morning, accompanied by the club’s team manager Kresimir Mikulandre and spokesman Ante Bilic, left the Kremlin Palace hotel and Hajduk’s training camp in Antalya, and headed for London.”
The midfielder, similar to Michael Ballack in playing style, was expected to sign a deal and then be loaned back to Hajduk for the rest of the season.
As of yet, it is important to confirm that Chelsea have not made anything official on this deal - but the player has arrived back in Croatia and has been speaking about the visit.
Dalmacij News report that Pasalic is back in Split after flying from London via Frankfurt and telling them:
“I'm glad everything is successfully completed, it is now back to training and the next six months I have to concentrate solely on Hajduk. Nothing else I can say.”
In terms of the deal - it appears he has not signed for Chelsea yet, but has agreed a pre-contract agreement at the club ahead of a summer switch.
Here is what his agent Ivica Loncar has had to say about the deal:
“We are pleased with the job done. Mario goes to Chelsea 1st July, and we have insisted that until then he remains at Hajduk. In London we have a great welcome, the whole deal was concluded in training camp with Chelsea’s Michael Emenalo, technical director of the club. Once he becomes a Chelsea player, Mario will probably go out on loan…”
So don’t expect any official line breaking across your screen in bright yellow on Sky Sports News before 11 pm.
This deal will be concluded on the 1st July - but have no doubt, Pasalic is to become a Chelsea player.
