Three players who Everton could sign on Deadline Day

Everton Goodison 2

Marseille, Lyon and Dundee United stars all feature.

It’s a very important second half of the season for Everton, with Roberto Martinez’ side looking at the very realistic possibility of a top four finish.

The transfer deadline will present the boss with a variety of different challenges today, as he tries to keep key players while also deconstructing the Merseyside derby loss and preparing for the game against Aston Villa tomorrow.

We’ve taken a look at the latest rumours and stories and come up with three players who could potentially make last minute moves to Goodison Park.

Saber Khalifa (Marseille)

The 27-year-old only moved to Marseille last summer, where he’s struggled to create a formidable reputation for himself scoring only one game. Not great for a forward.

The Daily Mail has suggested him as a possible last minute addition to the squad, following the ankle injury Romelu Lukaku picked up against Liverpool on Tuesday night.

However, with a deal already tied up for AS Monaco’s Lacina Traore, it’s up in the air whether this deal could go through today.

Bafetimbi Gomis (Lyon)

A more favourable choice for Everton fans could be Lyon’s Bafetimbi Gomis.

Gomis has been linked with plenty of clubs this month, as Lyon could cash in on the remaining six months of his contract rather than see him leave for nothing in the summer.

The fee doing the rounds in the press is around the £3 million mark, which means Everton won’t have to drastically stretch their budget to get a deal done.

Andrew Robertson (Dundee United)

Robertson is a left-back that some Everton fans will already be familiar with.

The Evening Telegraph in Dundee has reported that the Toffees could make a late bid for the 19-year-old to come in as cover for Leighton Baines.

Baines would remain the primary left-back the club, after signing a new four-year deal to stay at Goodison Park.
