Former Tottenham Hotspur chairman and social media personality Alan Sugar has looked at the silver lining following the battering Manchester City gave them.
Pre-match, Lord Sugar made a prediction… that Tottenham Hotspur would not be beaten by six goals when they entertained Manchester City at White Hart Lane on Wednesday, January 29 like they were earlier in the season under Andre Villas-Boas' rule.
Current manager Tim Sherwood oversaw a Spurs side only marginally better, as the Lilywhites slumped to a 5-1 home loss, as goals Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure, Eden Dzeko, Steven Jovetic and Vincent Kompany laid to rest any challenge Spurs had hoped to mount, with Etienne Capoue returning Tottenham's sole goal.
The result sees Spurs lose momentum in their challenge for the final and elusive qualification place to next season's Champions League as Liverpool moved three points clear of the North Londoners due to their 4-0 thumping of Everton.
Told you Man City would not beat us by 6. Only consolation Spurs loss takes Arsenal off top of PL— Lord Sugar (@Lord_Sugar) January 29, 2014
