Arsenal transfer news: £36m Draxler 'advanced talks', Vucinic medical and £2.5m alternative

All the latest transfer news and gossip as we enter the last two days of the Transfer Window.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admitted last night that the club may have to move for players in the Transfer Window - and that has seen two names immediately linked with a move to the Premier League.

One of the players in question is Julian Draxler - and it is now believed Arsenal are in advanced talks with Schalke 04 over his potential transfer to the Premier League.

Draxler is set to return from injury in the next week and will help provide cover in the midfield area - after the clubs injury concerns involving Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere and Theo Walcott.

A £36 million fee for the German international has been reported to be ‘provisionally agreed’ and talks are said to be ongoing in Germany for the rest of today.

Arsenal are also said to be keen on bringing in Spanish international Cristian Tello on loan. The Barcelona forward has been a peripheral figure for the club once again this season - but still harbours hope of a place in the Spanish squad for the upcoming World Cup in Brazil.

It is said Arsenal are willing to bring him in on a six-month loan deal. However Barca see him as vital cover and convincing them to sell up will not be easy.

The other name seemingly on his way to The Emirates Stadium is 30-year-old Montenegro striker Mirko Vucinic.

The Juventus forward is still reeling from a failed switch to Inter Milan earlier in the week - and is desperate to leave for first-team football.

The Gunners are said to have proposed a six-month loan deal - and reports in Italy claim he could be flying in for his medical this afternoon.

He can play as a striker or out wide - so could provide perfect cover for Olivier Giroud and the injured Theo Walcott.

Meanwhile another name has popped up in case Arsenal cannot make these moves stick. It is also reported today that Arsenal will bid for former Chelsea player Salomon Kalou.

The Gunners could reportedly have him for just £2.5 million - and the Lille forward is keen on a Premier League return.

However he has previously gone on record to state he is keen on staying until the end of the season.
