Tottenham Hotspur transfer news: Have Spurs made a bid for Man United's Hernandez?

A round up of the latest transfer stories about Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham have reportedly made a bid for Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez.

Diego Cora of ESPN Tweeted that Spurs were one of three clubs to have made an offer for the Mexican forward.

Cora is believed to be well connected in Mexican football circles but he also suggests AS Monaco are one of the sides interested, a team that could financially outmuscle Spurs.

Borussia Dortmund will reportedly step up attempts to sign Lewis Holtby before the end of the week.

The German has been linked with a move back to the Bundesliga for most of this month after failing to nail down a regular starting place under Tim Sherwood.

Reports are still suggesting a fee of around £5 million, which would represent big profit on the £1.5 million Spurs paid FC Schalke for the midfielder.

However, manager Tim Sherwood has revealed that he’s not expecting a lot of business before the close of the transfer deadline on Friday.

Sherwood says he’s happy with the squad and the signings made last summer, as the team look to achieve a top four finish.

“Unless something drastic happens between now and the end of the window then we won't be bringing anyone in. I am happy with the squad we have here. It is a big squad after we brought seven new players in last summer and I trust this group of players to take us where we want to be,” said the Spurs head coach.
