Vlad Chiriches, the unwitting star of a home-made video that went viral recently, will not face disciplinary measures due to its content - the Tottenham Hotspur defender was alleged by a Romanian website, cancan.ro and also the Daily Mail, to have been inebriated after partying, which was why he could barely stand up straight in the film clip and even slumped to the floor.
The video quickly circulated through social media, with many posters repeating the comment that accompanied the initial Cancan article; 'Chiriches plays a like a Romanian but drinks like an Englishman!'
Chiriches' actions have not gone unnoticed by the Lilywhite management, however, because the player had not been in breach of any ruling, he will not face punishment.
Head coach Tim Sherwood even elected to make light of the situation and is quoted by Sky Sports to have said: 'I saw [the video]. He's had a weekend off and he's got to play well on Wednesday [against Manchester City at White Hart Lane].
'He will not face a fine, he wasn't breaking any rules. He was unsteady on his legs by the looks of it. It must have been windy over there!'
Chiriches, 24, was bought from Steaua Bucharest last summer for an £8.5m fee and has completed 1,035 minutes of Premier League action for Spurs, returning commendable statistics of an 89% passing accuracy, a 72% success rate in the tackle, 59 clearances and 29 interceptions.
