Yohan Cabaye has been unveiled as a Paris Saint-Germain player after completing a move from Newcastle United.

PSG have finally got their man as Yohan Cabaye was revealed as their new number 4. Newcastle United fans will be sad to see one of their key players leave and hope to have a replacement as soon as possible.

Yohan Cabaye has moved for an initial fee of £19m reportedly, but that could rise to over £20m with add-ons. The 28-year-old has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Ligue 1 leaders.

As Newcastle United have not been involved in any European action this season, Cabaye will hope to play a big part in the Champions League for PSG. They are set to face Bayer Leverkusen in the last 16 next month.

Cabaye told the PSG website "I was won over by the ambitious project at Paris St Germain and I can't wait to join this exceptional squad and help the team reach its objectives in France and in Europe."

A Newcastle United statement read "The club wanted to keep him but the lure of Champions League football and the prospect of being involved in the sporting project at PSG was an opportunity that Yohan made very clear to us he wanted to take."

"Yohan leaves the club with our best wishes for his future at PSG and, hopefully, as part of the French national squad for this summer's World Cup."

The Magpies are hoping to replace Cabaye with another Frenchman in Clement Grenier.
