Marcus Noack has admitted he thinks his client will depart Tottenham Hotspur in the next few days.
Lewis Holtby's chances at Tottenham Hotspur have been limited this season, and it now looks as if he will get the chance to get some games under his belt somewhere else.
The midfielder has started just six Premier League games for Spurs this season. He does have a lot of competition on his hands, with Tim Sherwood having an abundance of options available to him, capable of playing in the midfield positions. Christian Eriksen has been impressing for the club recently and it has made it hard for Holtby to get in the side.
Sky Sports have revealed that Holtby's agent; Marcus Noack has said that he expects a loan deal to be completed for his client in the next couple of days. "My feeling is that he will leave but it's not in our hands at the moment. Tottenham have to agree to let him go first. We hope to find a solution in the next couple of days."
Tottenham are thought to be open to the idea of letting the Germany international leave permanently hoping for a fee of around £9m. However his agent thinks that it will be difficult to sort out a permanent transfer with so little time left in the transfer window.
"I think it will be a loan because it is difficult for anyone to buy Lewis."
Holtby signed a four and a half year deal with Spurs last January after joining from Schalke 04. His one and only Premier League goal came against Fulham in a 2-1 victory in December.
It is thought he could return back to Schalke 04 or even join Borussia Dortmund. The Telegraph have suggested that Holtby could join Fulham on loan with Dimitar Berbatov moving the other way.
