Time is running out for Tony Pulis to make his signings with the window slamming shut on Friday.
It has been a frustrating transfer window so far for Crystal Palace, and with just three days left for The Eagles to make their signings, Tony Pulis is going to have his work cut out.
Sky Sports suggested that Crystal Palace are in talks with Tom Ince today, but face stiff competition from up to five other Premier League clubs, including Liverpool who must be favourites if their interest is confirmed. Ince, though, has reportedly been photographed at Stoke City.
Unfortunately a lot of the talk coming out of Selhurst Park this week was surrounding Tony Pulis' future with their already being speculation that he is ready to leave the club. The Mirror reported that Pulis is extremely disappointed that none of his targets have been brought to the club, and they are even bidding for players without him knowing.
It suggests that Pulis had no idea that the club had made a bid for Wigan Athletic defender Ivan Ramis. Pulis has identified Wolves' Wayne Hennessey, Brighton's Will Buckley and Blackburn's Scott Dann as his prime targets. Yet those deals don't seem to have progressed. Last week Palace looked close to signing former Liverpool midfielder Momo Sissoko but that deal never materialised either.
The Hull Daily Mail reports that Pulis wanted to sign both Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long before they went to Hull City. Chairman Steve Parish was apparently put off by the price tags though, and Pulis is being restricted by the £15,000 wage cap which players must accept if the club is relegated. Palace face Hull tonight at Selhurst Park, so expect Jelavic and Long to play a big part in that game.
The Metro emphasise Pulis' main targets for the club. They reveal the five players The Eagles want before the end of the deadline: Dann, Buckley and Hennessey are again featured, whilst Ramis is suggested as a back-up plan to Dann, although that is contrasting to other reports that suggests Pulis does not want Ramis. Leon Best is the fifth name, and he has also been mentioned before. It is thought Best would come to Palace along with Dann to help sweeten the deal for Blackburn Rovers.
