Versatile midfielder Toni Kroos has spoken out over his future and the 24-year-old, on the books at Bayern Munich, has refused to quash the transfer speculation linking him with a transfer away from the Allianz Arena and to one of two Premier League destinations - Chelsea or Manchester United.
Having represented last year's quadruple winners 17 times in the Bundesliga this season and featuring in all six matches in the Champions League, Kroos - most frequently positioned in the centre of Pep Guardiola's midfield - is renowned for his passing accuracy (92%), his chance creation (20) and for keeping things ticking over, playing an orchestral role from a deeper position, attempting 73 passes on average each game.
Considering the rebuilding project that Moyes is hoping to engineer at Old Trafford, the United midfield is one of the areas that requires the most attention. The acquisition of Juan Mata for £37.1m from Chelsea has been a coup, however, Mata's best role is further afield - either behind the striker, or to the left wing where he is mildly less effective.
And so Kroos would provide competition for Michael Carrick, Tom Cleverley and Phil Jones and would, most often, be the first choice.
'I am unable to rule anything out,' Kroos is quoted by kicker-Sportmagazin to have said, before noting that there are no discussions between himself and Bayern regarding an extension to his current deal which expires in June, 2015. 'I am under contract with Bayern Munich. Actually there are yet no further talks scheduled. I will therefore fully focus on the second half of the season.
'There are worse situations in life. I play for a top club, and under a top coach. I am pleased, and sometime in the future a decision will be made.'
According to Jan Aage Fjortoft, a journalist and ex professional who broke the news that Mesut Ozil would join Arsenal last summer, Chelsea told Bayern to 'name their price' over the fee they would demand to allow the Blues to enter personal term negotiation with Toni, a player whom they also apparently said 'wages are no problem,' to.
Kroos has a transfermarkt.co.uk valuation of £28m.
