Derby County seem to have found a real gem in the transfer market with 20-year-old Patrick Bamford and according to former Leicester City manager Martin Allen, he has been the best addition of the current January transfer window.
The former Nottingham Forest youngster has really struck a chord with Derby County fans, netting 2 goals in his last 2 games, despite starting from the bench.
'The best piece of business in the transfer window so far involves a Chelsea player - but forget Juan Mata.'
He later went on to describe the youngster style, impact made and what his signing could mean to the iPro faithful at the end of the season.
'Watch out for this young man. With his pace, body frame and finishing he reminds me of a young Fernando Torres.
'He's done a fantastic job at MK Dons in League One in the first half of this season, scoring 17 goals in 30 games.
'And Bamford has already scored twice in three games, coming off the bench for Steve McClaren.
'They say promotion to the Premier League is worth £120million. If Bamford starts firing, this master swoop from McClaren could be worth a fortune.'
Although some may suggest it's a bit early to predict his impact in Derby County's promotion push, it's arguable that he has already contributed greatly, scoring the winner vs Brighton and the equiliser vs Blackburn.
As well as proving that his impact from the bench can be a huge boost, the quality of the two finishes must also be admired.
The England U21 striker hit both goals superbly finding the bottom left hand corner on both occasions, leaving the goalkeeper no chance.
Whether he will indeed prove to be a better signing than Juan Mata remains to be seen, but little doubt can be cast of the young striker's quality.
